Coming this Winter

The Tale of Nobody Nose

Goofus Theatre, in association with Theatre Porto, are thrilled to announce the upcoming winter show, “The Tale of Nobody Nose“ which will run exclusively for three weeks at Theatre Porto, Ellesmere Port from Thursday, December 5th to Sunday, December 22nd, 2024.

Imaginative storytelling, skillful puppetry and classic clowning combine to transport audiences of all ages on a fantastical, wintery journey, where wisdom and nonsense intertwine!

Told by three clowning storytellers: Boz, Yolo and Flo who are guided by their magical map. The Tale of Nobody Nose follows one lost puppet’s epic adventure across land, sea and skies to find the most important thing – ever… their own red nose!

Everybody is always a somebody if you sometimes just follow your nose…

Celebrating the art of puppetry, red-noses and snowball fights! This accessible, fun-filled and interactive production promises to warm the heart and make you laugh out loud. We invite you to join us and rediscover your childlike wonder in this magical, wordless show for everybody.

Nina Hajiyianni, Artistic Director of Theatre Porto, shared her excitement:

“Our venue is a place for the young and the young at heart, so we are thrilled to be presenting ‘The Tale of Nobody Nose’ which embodies the qualities of curiosity and playfulness which inspires us daily at Theatre Porto.”

Paul Barnhill, of Goofus Theatre, echoed the sentiment:

“At Goofus Theatre, we champion a theatre without boundaries—accessible to all ages, backgrounds, and locales. ‘The Tale of Nobody Nose‘ celebrates the strange, the fantastical and the sheer joyfulness of play. We can’t wait to share this magical journey with audiences at Theatre Porto.”

Theatre Porto (formerly Action Transport Theatre) are an Arts Council England National portfolio organisation who have been making outstanding, professional theatre for over 35 years. Our new venue which opened in 2022 in Ellesmere Port, is a dedicated theatre, ‘for, by and with’ children and young people, one of a handful of specialist theatres outside of London, and the only one of its kind in Cheshire and Merseyside.

Goofus Theatre is a touring theatre company founded in 2012, specializing in creating original pieces with mask, puppetry, clowning, play, and music. They believe in a theatre that is mischievous, funny, strange, moving, fantastical, surreal, and dreamlike.

Goofus Theatre will also be delivering special community outreach performances of The Tale that Nobody Nose in Ellesmere Port and the surrounding area, visiting schools, care homes and hospices in December 2024 and January 2025.

Super-earlybird tickets will be available shortly here. For schools and group bookings interested in booking their winter visits to see The Tale of Nobody Nose – please contact jess@TheatrePorto.org.
