Hello from Theatre Porto!
We hope this finds you well. We’re reaching out to share some brilliant opportunities this Autumn / Winter at Theatre Porto – Ellesmere Port’s very own dedicated theatre for children, young people and families.
From playful workshops to imaginative performances and creative collaborations, we offer experiences that spark curiosity, build confidence and celebrate every young person’s voice. Whether you’re thinking of a school trip to our magical venue, a creative workshop in your classroom, or even co-creating something brand new – we’d love to team up with you.

The Cafe Club
AT THEATRE PORTO
A creative space to hangout for 12–18 year olds
Wednesdays 3:00–4:30
Starting Sep 17th
Young People are invited to come and hang out at Theatre Porto from 3pm – 4.30pm on a Wednesday after school to play games, take part in some creative activity and spend time together.
Dates for this term are: 17th Sep, 24th Sep, 1st Oct, 8th Oct, 15th Oct, 22nd Oct, 5th Nov, 12th Nov, 19th Nov, 26th Nov.
Please note as this is a drop in session we are not responsible for how a young person comes to and from the sessions – it is up their parent/carer whether they leave independently or are collected. All staff on site are DBS checked and follow relevant Safeguarding and Health & Safety procedures.

Royal Ballet & Opera Schools: Primary Dance CPD – Cheshire (Full day)
A FREE in-person certified CPD for primary school teachers wanting to build their confidence in teaching dance.
Friday, October 17th 2025 | Theatre Porto | 9.00 – 15:00
No prior knowledge of ballet is required!
This FREE CPD is part of the Royal Ballet & Opera’s award-winning Create & Dance programme, a curriculum-led teacher development programme designed for primary school teachers.

Schools Tour: Twelfth Night
Following on from the success of The Tempest, Romeo and Juliet and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Storyhouse are delighted to present our next touring Shakespearian production, created specifically for young people: Twelfth Night.
Journey to Illyria for a fast-paced, abridged re-telling of Shakespeare’s classic tale that will run for around 50 minutes.
Developed as part of WayWord Festival, this is a fantastic opportunity to introduce your students to Shakespeare and bring live performance to your school hall.
The show is followed by a short Q&A with members of the cast and can be supplemented by workshops and other resources. We have both morning (approx. 10am, depending on your timetable) and afternoon (approx. 1pm) performance slots available to book between Monday 13 October and Friday 24 October 2025, and the show is priced at £500+VAT per performance.

Jump, kick and twist
The Ninja appears and vanishes before your eyes – can you catch a glimpse?
Join us on a shadowy adventure into an imaginative, immersive world of silhouettes and movement. Discover the secrets of The Ninja as dance, shadow play and live music draw us into their mysterious world.

Green and Gold
The Green and Gold Strategy is Ellesmere Port’s new cultural strategy and vision, co-created with children, young people, schools, artists and community partners.
We had an incredible afternoon with so many colleagues and supporters joining us for the launch on Friday 12th September, including a wonderful performance from local choir The Fireflies.
The strategy has now been soft launched, and we are awaiting the outcome of major funding bids that will help resource its first phase.
