Schools

Working with our school communities is at the heart of what we do here at Theatre Porto.

We create opportunities for young people in school to participate and experience arts, culture and creative activities both within the curriculum and extended beyond.

Through our work with the Ellesmere Port Cultural Learning Exchange, we are supporting 21 local schools to gain their Arts Mark status and in partnership with Curious Minds are working towards Ellesmere Port  becoming an Arts Mark Town.

Working closely with the only Creativity Collaborative in the North West, lead by St Bernard’s Primary School, we are committed to raising aspirations within the local area as well as building strong and sustainable partnerships between schools, cultural organisations and freelance artist practitioners in Ellesmere Port.

We provide opportunities for teachers and artists work together to create and learn from each other which results in new models of practice.

We believe in sharing specialist practice in creating work for, by and with children and young people in SEND schools with a focus on inclusion and ‘relaxed by design’ co-created work.
