As Colourful as a Box of Surprises
The exhibition is the culmination of work created by 6 local primary schools, led by Theatre Porto Community artist Jake Ryan.
The basis of the artwork is playful similes to describe positive personal qualities — such as “I am as lively as a dance floor full of spinning tops” – transforming them into bold, abstract artworks using colour, shape, and composition. This accessible process has encouraged creativity, confidence in writing and speaking, artistic experimentation and self expression.
The artwork was on display daily throughout Topsy Turvy 25, and will be up until summer 2026 as a temporary installation which showcases children’s art work.
