Mika and the Polar Bear
We would be delighted if you could join us for a special performance of Mika and the Polar Bear this February.
Mika and the Polar Bear is the latest production from Manchester-based, female-led contemporary dance company Coalesce Dance Theatre, presented in association with Theatre Porto.
Created in response to the climate crisis, this imaginative new work takes audiences on a powerful journey into the wonders of the natural world, with themes of friendship, compassion and the power of hope at its heart.
The story follows Mika, who has been swept away by a climate disaster and finds themselves in a strange, ever-changing world. Along the way, Mika encounters creatures across land, sea and sky, forming an unlikely friendship with a lone Polar Bear living in an icy wonderland. Together, they navigate the unknown in search of a new beginning.
Featuring physically powerful contemporary dance, original music, digital animation and enchanting puppetry, Mika and the Polar Bear is a moving and visually striking production for all ages, celebrating resilience, courage and connection.
The performance lasts approximately 60 minutes. Refreshments will be provided.
