Got music to share? We want to hear it!

Theatre Porto is creating a space where live music can thrive – and we’re looking for local musicians, bands and artists to help shape it. As part of Topsy Turvy 2026, we’ll be opening up our beautiful outdoor Sun Terrace stage for an afternoon of live performances, giving artists the chance to play in front of a welcoming audience, gain valuable experience and be part of a growing creative community.

We’re especially keen to support young musicians aged 14–25 and artists from Ellesmere Port, but everyone is welcome to express their interest. Whether you’re just starting out or already performing regularly, this is your chance to step on stage and share your music.

How can we help?

• We’ve set aside an afternoon as part of our family arts festival for local bands/musicians/artists to share their music – Topsy Turvy 2026 – running 7th – 9th August
• A space to invite your friends and family where you can record your performance in front of a live audience, gain experience and just have fun
• Speakers, mics and stands supplied, all supported by a technician throughout the event
• Talk with our technical team ahead of the performance to answer any questions

Who can get involved?

• We welcome all styles, ages, and levels of experience
• Artists under 18 will need a parent/guardian to be present throughout
• Priority will be given to those aged 14-25 and from Ellesmere Port, but anyone with a passion for music is encouraged to express interest
• You could have a set between 10 – 20 minutes (but less is okay if you’re just starting out)
• Originals and covers are welcome, just make sure your lyrics are family friendly
• Be available between 2pm – 6pm on Saturday 8th August 2026
• Please note this is a voluntary non-paid opportunity
