Introducing Our New ArtCart: A Game Changer for Theatre Porto!

We are thrilled to announce the latest addition to our team – the brand new ArtCart! This bespoke, quirky tricycle is set to revolutionize how we deliver arts workshops across Ellesmere Port, making theatre more accessible and environmentally friendly.

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Supporters

First and foremost, we want to extend a HUGE THANK YOU to all 40+ of our @spacehive backers and supporters, including the Cheshire West Crowd Community Innovation Fund, supported by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF). Your contributions have made this dream a reality, and we are immensely grateful for your support.

What is the ArtCart?

The Theatre Porto ArtCart is a unique tricycle designed to ‘pop up’ in various locations around Ellesmere Port, offering portable arts workshops for children and families. This innovative approach allows us to bring the joy of theatre and creativity directly to the community, all while helping to reduce our carbon emissions.

Expanding Our Reach

Our new ARTCART will enable us to introduce theatre to those who may not yet know about us or have had the chance to visit our venue. By animating parks, schools, and community spaces, the ArtCart will add a ‘wow factor’ to many events and workshops, making them more engaging and memorable.

Additionally, the ArtCart supports our ambition to reduce our carbon footprint, contributing to positive climate action and demonstrating our commitment to sustainability.

Securing Free Family Hangouts

Thanks to the generous contributions, we are also able to secure another six months of our FREE Family Hangout project. These sessions take place every Saturday morning from 10 am to 12 noon at Theatre Porto, providing a wonderful opportunity for families to engage in creative activities together.

The Creators Behind the ArtCart

We would like to acknowledge the incredible team behind the ArtCart. Designed by the talented Sam Hutchinson (@designdylunio) and crafted by the experts at Urban Tricycles, the ArtCart is a testament to innovative design and craftsmanship. This project was made possible through the support of the Cheshire West and Chester Council Community Innovation Fund and the UKSPF.

Join Us on This Exciting Journey

We are excited about the endless possibilities the ArtCart brings to Theatre Porto and our community. Stay tuned for updates on where the ArtCart will be popping up next and join us in celebrating the power of creativity and community.

For more information about our upcoming events and workshops, follow us on social media.

Thank you for your continued support!

Access

Wheelchair spaces are available and we’ll always do our very best to accommodate other access needs. The more we know and understand in advance, the better support we’ll be able to put in place. We also offer Supported Visits where possible – whereby our Access & Pastoral Lead can offer additional input and information – this may include things such as visual guides, familiarisation tours, seat reservation etc; to make your visit to us as comfortable as possible. For further details please email takepart@theatreporto.org

Heartfelt thanks to our funders and to all our partners and supporters.
Thank you to our volunteers, school partners and all our brilliant freelance team.
