Call Out: Lead Actor for ‘Twelve Yuletide Yarns’
We’re looking for an experienced, dynamic and captivating male (playing age of 35+) Lead Actor with a deep passion for children’s theatre and a versatile performance style. You will be our lead storyteller working alongside a live musician and performing stage manager in Twelve Yuletime Yarns.
This isn’t just any show; it’s a joyful, imaginative, and “bonkers” action packed adventure designed to inspire young minds and transport them into the magic of winter! We’re building on the success of our acclaimed previous productions, “The Mystery of the Raddlesham Mumps” and “The Chronicles of Atom and Luna“.
Whilst not essential a base in either North Essex or Ellesmere Port/Liverpool would be preferred.
The Project: Twelve Yuletime Yarns
12 Yuletime Yarns aims to deliver a big-hearted and hilarious experience directly into schools, libraries, and community centres.
You’ll be collaborating with an incredible creative team:
- Writer: Murray Lachlan Young
- Director: Nina Hajiyianni (Artistic Director and CEO of Theatre Porto)
- Producer: Matthew Linley
- Designer: Bek Palmer (responsible for puppets, set items, and costumes)
- Production Company: Funnelwick Limb in association with Eastern Angles and Theatre Porto
The intimate touring team will consist of three members: you (the Lead Actor), a stage manager/performer , and a musician. This exciting project is financially supported by Arts Council England (with National Lottery funds) and Tendring District Council (with Shared Prosperity Funds).
