CASTING CALL OUT – Little Red
Theatre Porto are recreating their production of LITTLE RED following the 2022 remount by Eastern Angles in Ipswich. The show will play at HOME Manchester for a week before returning to Theatre Porto for a run either side of the festive break.
The production will use the original script and music from the 2016-18 production, then called LITTLE RED AND THE BIG BAD WOLF.
We are looking for 2 actors of any gender to join the company to play THE WOLF/ENSEMBLE and GRANDMA/ENSEMBLE.
LITTLE RED is a physical piece of theatre which requires both good acting skills and a strong singing voice. Good physical skills are needed for the ensemble work – playing wolves, characters from other folk/fairy tales, and forest spirits. The show calls on a wide performer’s skill-set so please tell us about any additional skills (ie puppetry, etc).
The roles would suit performers who are:
- interested and excited by making work for children and family audiences;
- interested and excited by the work of Theatre Porto;
- willing to work within the framework of the original show and also be creative to make it their own;
- wxperience of, or an understanding of the practice of small-scale theatre companies like Theatre Porto (formerly known as Action Transport Theatre);
- Experienced in performing in small casts, in ensemble, multi rolling story-telling shows;
Interested in team work and supporting others to create great work;
