My Life with the Wave is a story of friendship, taking audiences on a journey beneath the waves.
Created for young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities and staged in Interplay Theatre’s unique illuminated dome, My Life with Wave is inspired by the poem by Mexican Poet Laureate Octavio Paz and uses movement, sound, digital technology, and physical interaction to create a fully immersive sensory experience.
About Interplay
As the National Sensory Theatre, Interplay create immersive environments and work across art forms and across the five senses. Our productions contain themes that resonate in today’s world with characters that face challenges both physical and emotional.
The productions push the boundaries of how we communicate with children who are ‘far away’, locked inside themselves due to their disabilities and challenge preconceptions about the emotional literacy of young people with a range of complex needs by not being afraid to present situations which are a part of life, be they love, loss or death.
