We’ve Been Shortlisted! North West Awards for Planning Excellence (Best Project)

Theatre Porto are absolutely thrilled to share some brilliant news…

We have been shortlisted in the Projects category at the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) North West Awards for Planning Excellence 2025!

Our beautiful, purpose-built theatre in Ellesmere Port – submitted by Cheshire West & Chester Council, Theatre Porto, Equans, Bennetts Architects, Lambert Smith Hampton – has been recognised as one of the Best Projects in the region.

We’re proud to be the only dedicated children and young people’s theatre in Cheshire and Merseyside, and one of just a few across the country. To be acknowledged by the RTPI is a huge honour and a big cheer for putting young people at the heart of place-making.

Winners will be announced on Thursday 19 June at the Annual RTPI Dinner, held in Manchester.
