Cheshire Dance:
When we meet… 5 dances
Date Wednesday 5th February 2024, 2.00-3.30pm
This is an invitation only event – please contact daisy@CheshireDance.org

At Cheshire Dance, we believe that everyone has the right to be creative and to experience the transformative power of dance.
This belief is the driving force behind Wanna Dance?, our project which co-creates dances with individuals with profound and multiple learning disabilities. We would love to share this project with you at a new film premiere of “When we meet… 5 dances” on Wednesday 5th February 2025.
In “When we meet… 5 dances”, you’ll meet Bethan, Dylan, Johnny, Liam and Victoria dancing with myself and collaborating dance artist, Ruth Spencer. The film celebrates individual personalities and unique creative expression, sharing the dances we create together.
The Wanna Dance? project continues to challenge perceptions of who dances and how that dance might be and is gaining recognition and acclaim from across the sector.
Feedback on our previous Wanna Dance? projects/film has included:
“This is the most exciting thing! I hope this becomes a widespread practice, it is communication at the most fundamental and honest level. Bravo!” Peter Blaker – adult PMLD specialist teacher
“What a powerful and inspiring film about the impact of music and dance!” Conference attendee Lila Kossyvaki – Autism Centre for Education and Research: Birmingham University
We need your support to keep developing dancing opportunities with individuals with PMLD; only through raising awareness and gaining more visibility around Dance and PMLD, can we work towards our vision of the Wanna Dance model being embedded in social care and for any adult with PMLD to have the opportunity to choose if they want to dance.
We would love you to come to the film premiere of “When We Meet… 5 Dances” and ask you to add the date to your diary.
