Comments Off on OPPORTUNITY: Head of Operations

We’re hiring! Theatre Porto — our beautiful dedicated children’s and young people’s theatre in Ellesmere Port — is looking for a Head of Operations to join our senior team.

This role is central to keeping our busy organisation running smoothly. You’ll lead on strengthening our operational infrastructure, running our administrative systems, and making sure audiences, artists, funders, and partners all have the best possible experience with us.

Who might you be?

Maybe you’re an experienced arts administrator with leadership skills and would welcome a role that is a real 50/50 split — combining hands-on administration with leadership and organisational development or maybe you’re already a senior leader who enjoys being hands-on while also supporting teams to work at their best.

Either way, if you care about high standards, effective systems, love collaboration, and want to help a creative, community-focused organisation thrive — we’d love to hear from you.

Location: Theatre Porto, Whitby Hall, Ellesmere Port

Salary: £34,000 per annum (pro rata)

Contract: Fixed Term – 2 years initially with a desire to extend following review. (0.8 FTE / 4 days per week)*

Reporting to: Executive Director

Responsible for: Casual staff and volunteers

*We are a supportive and inclusive organisation that values work–life balance and understands that flexibility helps people thrive. We are happy to explore and agree a range of flexible working arrangements, including part-time hours, job shares, condensed hours, and hybrid working patterns, where the needs of the role allow. We welcome conversations about flexibility from the outset of the recruitment process.

Deadline: 12 noon, Tuesday 10 September

Interviews: Tuesday 16 September, Ellesmere Port
